No update rate, public retention period, photo field, or web-feed field set can be claimed where no feed exists.
The absence of a web list does not mean the jail lacks an internal release report. It only means the public cannot browse one online through an official Saluda County source. Ask whether the jail-management system contains an existing report for the precise one-day period in question. A request for an existing record is different from asking staff to create a new list or conduct an investigation.
Check Saluda Same-Day Releases

A release type needs context. Bond is a court-authorized pretrial release, not the end of the charge. Time served describes the custodial part credited or completed, though supervision may follow. Transfer means custody continued with another authority. A hold may allow another agency to assume custody. The actual jail timestamp is still distinct from a court order entered earlier that day.
Request Saluda 24-Hour Release Records
Send a focused request through the Saluda County FOIA policy and form. The form routes to the County Council Office at 400 West Highland Street, Saluda, SC 29138. Name the Saluda County Detention Center as the custodian and state an exact start and end time. Electronic delivery is useful because the posted policy charges no per-page copy fee for electronic transmission, although qualifying search, review, or redaction labor may still apply.
A clear request can read: “Under the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act, please provide any existing release report or booking-and-release records for Saluda County Detention Center custody that ended between [start date and time] and [end date and time]. Please include the booked name, booking number, admission and release timestamps, disposition, public destination or receiving agency, charges, bond, and case numbers, with legally required redactions. Electronic delivery is preferred. Please provide an itemized estimate before costs are incurred.”
The posted schedule lists $11.72 per hour for search or copy labor, $0.25 per paper copy, and actual cost for special reproduction or supplies. The county may seek a deposit of up to 25 percent. Its policy gives a determination period of ten business days for current records, with later production generally following the statutory schedule. Fees and timing should be checked on the current form before filing.
Inspect Saluda Recent Release Records
Saluda County's policy adds an important local route. Documents that identify people confined in a jail, detention center, or prison during the preceding three months must be available for public inspection during normal business hours, subject to lawful redaction. Saluda Release Versus Continued Custody
Leaving the Saluda County Detention Center does not always mean returning to the community. Saluda Sheriff App Is Unverified
A historical Saluda County Sheriff app appears in old third-party app directories, but its listed functions were alerts, tips, suspicious-activity reports, and social links. Those descriptions did not promise inmate lookup, recent-release data, or mugshots. More importantly, the current official Sheriff page does not link the app. It should not be installed or treated as a county release source based on its name alone.
Use the current Saluda County Sheriff page to identify official navigation. That page routes readers to dispatch and detention services but does not supply a 24-hour release feed. A county-branded icon is not proof that an app is current, official, or capable of showing release records. Direct detention-center confirmation remains the reliable first step.
